ABOUT KENGY JEWELƵ

Kengy Jewelƶ was launched on 9th November 2019, via an Etsy shop, in honour of her mother’s birthday. Kengy’s earliest memory of jewellery-making dates back to when her mother gifted her a jewellery beading kit during a church group trip, where she began crafting bracelets. One of her most nostalgic childhood memories is playing in her mother’s bedroom closet, surrounded by her collection of gold jewellery, a cherished symbol of her Caribbean heritage.

Kengy has always found joy in beading and adorning herself with jewellery as a form of self-expression. Over time, she also came to appreciate jewellery as a spiritual and metaphysical tool.

In 2017, Kengy attended the Royal College of Art in London, where she pursued postgraduate studies in Photography. Interestingly, the Jewellery & Metal department was directly across the corridor, and she seized the opportunity to learn the basics of jewellery-making by attending workshops and exhibitions for inspiration. After graduating in 2019, Kengy decided to deepen her knowledge and skillset by enrolling in a jewellery trade school in her hometown. She later earned a certification in Comprehensive Jewellery from Studio Jewelers Ltd. in New York City.

Kengy currently resides in Ramsgate, a charming seaside town in South East England, where she continues to create jewelƶone moment at a time.

Kengy Jewelƶ strives to use primarily sustainable, recyclable and natural materials to create jewelƶ that are not only safe to wear, but also environmentally friendly.
